The success of our first version of the Community Wearable we developed with our client, Intrex, led to the creation of the next version of this technology with enhanced capabilities. Whereas the first version of our pendant allows for continuous monitoring and emergency alerts within a residential care facility using a custom mesh network, the Community + Wearable additionally monitors residents and maintains emergency alert features outside the home using GPS and LTE functionality.

User Experience

The Community + Wearable offers a seamless user experience for both the resident and the caretaker. Instead of coin cell batteries like the first version of the pendant, this version incorporates a rechargeable battery and the ability to easily replace devices running low on battery with a fully charged replacement device. The system is designed to move pendant data over seamlessly to the replacement and ensures a continuum of care that depends on caretakers replacing devices rather than remembering to charge individual devices for each resident. Using custom charging docks our team developed, a fully charged battery gives more than 2 months of full roaming ability on each individual device.

Robust Design

The Community + Wearable is designed to withstand a great deal of wear and tear with waterproof materials that allow residents to safely wear during showering and bathing. The pendant comes with snap-in mounts for wrist attachment using either custom Intrex bracelets, third-party wrist straps, or for wear around the neck. The simple pogo-pin dock connectors ensure quick and reliable charging with visual cues from built-in LED to let users know when their device is ready to go or in need of more charging.
